Notice of Municipal Primary Election on September 9, 2025
The Municipal Primary election for the Town of Rural Hall and the Village of Tobaccoville will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
Voters will be asked to show photo ID when they vote. All voters will be allowed to vote with or without ID. Voters who lack ID can get one for free from their county board of elections. Find out more at ncsbe.gov/voter-id.
Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. Early Voting will be held at the Forsyth County Board of Elections office at 201 N Chestnut Street, Winston Salem, NC 27101.
Early Voting times:
Thursday - Friday, Aug. 21-22, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Monday - Friday, Aug. 25-29, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday - Friday, Sep. 2-5, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, Sep. 6, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Absentee ballots will be mailed to voters who have requested them beginning August 8, 2025. A voter can fill out an absentee ballot request at votebymail.ncsbe.gov, or by filling out a request form provided by the board of elections. The ballot must be received through the website or by the Forsyth County Board of Elections by 7:30 p.m. September 9, 2025.
Registered Republican and Unaffiliated voters who live within the Town of Rural Hall or the Village of Tobaccoville may vote in the Municipal Primary election. Municipal contests include Town of Rural Hall Town Council or Village of Tobaccoville Village Council.
The voter registration deadline for this election is 5 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2025. Eligible individuals who are not registered by that deadline may register and vote at any early voting site during the early voting period. New registrants will be required to provide documentation of their residence.
