AQI readings are hovering near the Code Green/Yellow threshold on Tuesday. A notable warming trend is on tap with high temperatures returning to the lower 90s tomorrow then upper 90s on Thursday and Friday. With surface winds becoming light, plenty of sunshine, and dew points mixing out into the lower 60s during the afternoon hours, conditions will be primed for efficient ozone production. Ozone concentrations are expected to increase into the mid Code Yellow range tomorrow and then could approach the Code Yellow/Orange threshold on Thursday and Friday. The details will become clearer tomorrow and an upward adjustment may be necessary with tomorrow’s forecast cycle but for now upper Code Yellow concentrations are expected. Particle pollution readings will also continue to increase into the Code Yellow range through the rest of the workweek. (Greg Perrotte / perrotgt@forsyth.cc)
