Particle pollution continues to hover in the lower Code Yellow range on Saturday while ozone readings are lower in the upper Code Green range. Hot and humid weather will continue through Tuesday with high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and only low-end rain chances to offer some relief. As surface high pressure continues to drift westward, our source region will shift to the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys where AQI readings are lower. Particle pollution is expected to remain stubborn tomorrow, hovering in the lower Code Yellow range before finally dropping to the upper Code Green range on Monday and Tuesday. The elevated humidity levels and threat of afternoon clouds will help keep ozone in check in the upper Code Green range for the balance of the forecast period. –Greg Perrotte / perrotgt@forsyth.cc
